Czechoslovak Occultism and its Representatives during the First Republic

The bachelor's thesis Czechoslovakia Occultism and its Important Representatives during the First Republic copes the theme of modern occultism in context of western esoteric traditions and formation the modern society. It focuses on the methodological issues of new religion movements and secularization, and on the comprehensive typology of occultism. By processing the thesis a special emphasis was given on deeper culture and historical roots, which were the basics of the Czech modern occultism. Firstly there is the evolution and dynamics of individual occult movements in Czech country and subsequently its most important representatives are mentioned. The main concentration is on the directions, which achieved eminent organized forms during the First Republic such as the spiritism, the hermeticism or the mysticism. However other significant directions are also mentioned in the thesis for example the theosophy. Religious Life in Czechoslovak Prisons in the Period of the Communist Regime

This thesis deals with Czechoslovak penal system between the years 1948 - 1989 from the view of religion. It investigates the developement of spiritual service in prison, follows its decline after February 1948 and describes in which way the prisoners tried to find a solution to the prohibiton to practice religion in prisons. Further it focuses on religious persecution in communist Czechoslovakia, presents reasons for imprisonment of the members of individual confessions and shows how their faith reflected in everyday life in prison. The author makes a reference to the concentration of priests in closed departements, explains its reason and tries to depict everyday life of these separated communities. He describes in details how the convicted practiced the acts of their religion and he deals with the differences of individual confessions. The work speculates over the sense of imprisonment of hundreds of priests, friars and laymen from some of the Churches in communist Czechoslovakia. It thinks about the power of faith and conviction exposed to cruel physical treatment and mental violence. It also deals with the question of colaboration, relations between members of different confession and between the convicted and warders. Freedom of religion - constitutional and statutory regulation and reflection in the judgements of the Constitutional Court

This thesis deals with the constitutional and statutory regulation of freedom of religion in the Czech Republic. The aim is to describe and evaluate the current state of legal regulation and analyse some of its aspects considering the judgements of the Constitutional Court and of the European Court of Human Rights. The thesis is composed of four chapters. The introductory chapter consists of three parts. The first part defines the basic terminology used in the following parts of the thesis. The second part examines constitutional and statutory regulation. Relevant international treaties are also mentioned. The third part focuses on the relationship between the state and religious communities, and its effect on the level of religious freedom. The second chapter concentrates on the inner dimension of freedom of thought, conscience and religion (the so-called forum internum) as an expression of inviolability of the inner life of a human. It also addresses the right to change religion or belief and problems which may result from proselytism. The Viewpoint of the Churches and Other Religious Organisations on Moral and Legal Status of Human Life Child

This bachelor thesis focuses on moral and legal status of unborn child from the viewpoint of the churches and other religious organisations. It is written from the perspective of biomedical ethics attached to theological ethics. The attitudes of the churches and other religious organisations in the Czech Republic are interpreted on the basis of its own research and are contrasted with other theories dealing with the moral and legal status of unborn child, human and legal standards and Czech legislation. The core of this issue is human dignity - the aim of human rights whose origins can be found in the Bible. The results of the research are available to any social and pastoral workers as well as the public. Development of church land ownership in the Czech republic and in the world

This thesis aims to acquaint the reader with the way in which the property originated and also with the subsequent development of this property in a historical context. The text is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter we can find a list of ways how was the church property originated. Next chapter deals with the development of church property on the territory of our country. The third chapter devotes the development of church property in Europe. The last chapter deals with the settlement of property of chosen countries with churches and religious societies.
